Michelle Cromwell, PhD., director of Multicultural Village, presented at Human Services Coalition about how peace making circles can be used as a tool to resolve conflict.  Peacemaking circles were originated by Native Americans for conflict resolution between tribes. The “Circle Keeper” moderates the discussion among participants, who willingly participate. There are seven steps in the process, which may take up to 3 hours. Michelle leads circles, and also teaches new Circle Keepers, which enables groups to use Peacemaking circles economically.
